Sentosa

If you are looking for a day out of the city, Sentosa is a good alternative.
It is an island just off the southern coast of Singapore.
Sentosa offers a reasonably wide range of attractions and activities.
Although some Singaporeans make a little joke about Sentosa, stating that “Sentosa” actually stands for "So Expensive and Nothing TO See Actually".
The island is popular among Singaporeans for its beaches, but don’t expect it to be like the beaches in Thailand. Siloso, Palawan and Tangong are the three artifical beaches on the Island.
All the beaches are accessible by trams, shuttling people around the island.
The most interesting attractions on Sentosa are:
Carlsberg Sky Tower : With its 131 m above sea level it is Asia's tallest observation tower.
Underwater World: Asia's largest tropical oceanarium
Dolphin Lagoon: Offering daily shows of dolphins doing the usual acrobatic tricks.
For Golf fans: try out the Sentosa Golf Club. It hosts the yearly Barclays Open and it is the only Golf Club in Singapore hat is open to the public.
On the weekend, the beaches can offer some great parties like the yearly outdoor party, Zoukout.
There is plenty of accommodation on Sentosa but it is not for the budget traveler.
The Island can be reached by bus from the Imbiah Station, by monorail or by cable car.
